Are you worried of chalazion?
Well you should be, because it's becoming more common and if you happen to come across a lump that is in your eye, you may have a chalazia. Chalazia, or often referred as chalazion is typically felt as a little bump. But this isn't just your ordinary bump, in medical terms it is a meibomian cyst which can result in negatively affecting someones eyelid.
In some reported cases, this turned into an infection which had to be dealt with by surgery. However, it's formed because of blockage of one of the human glands so with that being said it is easier to to just let it heal on it's own and go away with time.
Both blepharitis and chalazion can be similar in a few ways. It's not unheard of for someone to get a chalazia if they continually struggle with the blepharitis illness. These can also be formed after dealing with an internal stye.
The Symptoms of chalazion
They tend to become aggressively inflamed leading to swelling which could be transfered to another area close to the eye but can vanish without utilizing eye treatment. Victims of this have also described a feeling of increased tearing which caused painful swelling all around the lids, in addition to sensitivity whether it's something thats bright or something close up.
The inner part of your lid consist of little glands that create an oil in order to help lubricate your eyes. If these glands do end up being blocked than that oil can't escape which will result in a cyst resembling a lump of some sort.
Inflammation can drive one crazy and over time can develop a granuloma. These are more critical lumps which have been known to stay with someone for a longer period of time. It's a problem that needs to be checked when the lump increases in size or changes color with a lot of pain. Each lids whether it's the lower or upper contains up to 40 glands, often referred to as meibomain glands.
